Butter Naan

Naan is one of the most sought after bread in South Asian cooking…It is a combination of white flour, yeast, curd and you can add extra flavours like garlic or cumin according to choice..Butter is one ingredient that elevates the dish to a different level…Anyway here I have not used butter( to reduce calorie) and used refined oil instead and the taste was not much different…We enjoyed it fully…


Maida 2 cups

Curd 1/4 cup

Yeast 1 teaspoon

Water 1/2 cup

Salt 1/2 teaspoon

Sugar 1 teaspoon

Refined oil 2 teaspoon


Soak the yeast in lukewarm water with sugar and keep aside for 30 minutes to ferment..In a wide bottomed pan sift maida with salt  and curd and add the fermented yeast and make into a soft dough, apply some oil on the dough and keep aside covered to rise for 2 hours.

The dough will be double in size well risen. Beat again and make into balls, flatten into your desired shape and cook on a tawa until both sides are cooked and puffed up and apply oil when hot and keep aside.

Have it with your favourite side dish whether veg or nonveg. Here I had it with baby potato masala.
