  1. Clean and devein the prawns and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add the fenugreek seeds, when golden brown add the grated coconut, shallots, curry leaves and keep on frying until coconut is dark golden brown in color.
  3. Now add the coriander powder, chilli powder to the fried coconut and saute again until raw smell disappears.
  4. Grind the fried coconut mixture to a fine paste with very little water and keep aside.
  5. Extract the pulp of tamarind, mix with prawns. Add turmeric powder, green chilies and ginger to this, add the ground coconut also, and keep on the stove.
  6. When starts boiling, cook keeping covered in low flame until oil float on top.
  7. Check for salt, add curry leaves boil once and remove from the stove.
  8. Serve either warm or cold. This curry tastes the best when cold especially when it is made in earthen pot.
  9. Enjoy with rice, or any Indian roties.
